Aesthetics CCAs

Please note that Aesthetics CCAs may require additional an additional practice sessions on weeks leading up to a performance.
Concert Band
In the concert band, pupils learn to play various wind, brass, and percussion instruments while developing their musical skills and discipline. They gain experience reading music, working as a team, and following a conductor. Pupils also get the chance to perform in school concerts and competitions, building confidence and a sense of accomplishment.
Note: Pupils in Band CCA are required to attend 2 sessions a week - Sectional and Combined
Chinese Orchestra
The Chinese Orchestra is a vibrant CCA in our primary school, providing pupils with opportunity to explore traditional Chinese music and culture. Under the guidance of experienced instructors, pupils can learn to play traditional instruments such as the erhu, ruan, dizi, yangqin and suona.
Through regular practices and performance opportunities, pupils develop musical skills, discipline, and teamwork. The Chinese Orchestra also fosters cultural appreciation and understanding among pupils, promoting diversity and inclusivity within the school community. By participating in the Chinese Orchestra, pupils develop confidence, creativity, and a lifelong appreciation for music and the arts.

Choir
Maha Bodhi School Choir is a dedicated and vibrant choir of enthusiastic children aged 8 to 12, whose passion for singing radiates in every performance. With their bright smiles and boundless energy, they bring a joyful spirit to every rehearsal, blending their voices in a colorful tapestry of sound. These young performers embrace the magic of music, captivating audiences with their infectious enthusiasm and heartfelt harmonies. Together, they not only cultivate their talents but also forge lasting friendships, making each performance a celebration of creativity and camaraderie. Their commitment shines through as they put in extra hours to tackle challenging pieces, supporting one another in a spirit of teamwork and friendship.
Guzheng
The guzheng is a traditional Chinese string instrument known for its beautiful,
resonant sound and versatility.
The guzheng is not just an instrument but a vessel for storytelling through
music. Mastering its techniques, selecting appropriate pieces, and exhibiting
showmanship are essential for creating a captivating performance.
Chinese Dance
Chinese Dance is a performing art that provides pleasure for both performers and audiences. The members are exposed to both traditional and contemporary Chinese dances. The weekly training develops flexibility, stamina, self-management, teamwork, sportsmanship, and responsible decision-making. Our dancers are challenged to learn varied dance techniques and different dance forms to attain greater heights. Members showcase their talents through school concerts and community events
