Sports CCA
Let's learn more about the respective Sports CCAs that are available in MBS.
Please note that Sport CCAs may require additional an additional practice day on weeks leading to a competition.
Basketball
Our MBS Basketball CCA offers students a chance to develop fundamental skills, teamwork, and sportsmanship through engaging practices and games. Participants learn the rules of basketball while enhancing physical fitness and coordination. The CCA fosters a love for the sport, encourages social interaction and promotes a healthy lifestyle.
Badminton
The badminton Co-Curricular Activity (CCA) emphasizes teamwork, discipline, and skill development. Students train regularly, focusing on improving footwork, strokes, and strategies for singles and doubles play. They compete in school tournaments like the National School Games, where teamwork and sportsmanship are key. The CCA also fosters leadership, resilience, and camaraderie through team-building activities and friendly matches.
Tchoukball
Tchoukball is a team sport that combines elements of handball and volleyball. Played on a rectangular court with two rebound frames at either end, teams score by throwing a ball at the frames. If the ball bounces off the frame and touches the ground within the scoring area, the team earns points. The game emphasizes fair play and teamwork, with no physical contact allowed. It encourages strategic play and quick reflexes. Tchoukball is suitable for all ages and promotes inclusivity and cooperation
Wushu and Lion Dance
For new Primary 3 pupils, pupils will be exposed to both Wushu and Lion Dance in 2025. Pupils will then be invited to join the respective CCA in Primary 4 onwards.
Wushu
Wushu is a traditional Chinese martial art that emphasizes both performance and combat skills. It encompasses various styles and forms, including barehanded techniques and weaponry. Wushu is known for its fluid movements, acrobatics, and intricate footwork, often showcased in competitions and demonstrations.
Our school’s Wushu team has achieved impressive results in national competitions and has been invited to perform at various celebrations, demonstrating the combination of physical fitness, discipline and cultural heritage.
Lion Dance
The lion dance is a traditional Chinese performance often seen during festivals, celebrations, and important events, such as the Lunar New Year. It involves a team of performers who mimic a lion's movements using a large, intricately designed lion costume.
The dance is accompanied by drums, cymbals, and gongs, creating an energetic and festive atmosphere. The lion is believed to bring good luck and ward off evil spirits
